Gunmen Steal KSh.500k from Pastor Ng’ang’a’s Home before he was released on KSh.1M Bond This Morning

Gunmen raided controversial Pastor James Ng’ang’a’s home in Karen early this Morning and stole an unspecified amount of money believed to be more than KSh.500,000. The gunmen gained entry into the house by cutting window grills at around 3.30am, fired two shots into the air, before making away with the money and electronics.
Langata DCIO Mbogo Mwaura said the Investigations into the raid had begun, with police optimistic that the suspects will be apprehended. Pastor Ng’ang’a’s wife, mother and children were in the house during the incident, while he spent his night at the Gigiri Police, but none of them was injured.
Pastor Ng’ang’a was freed on a bond of Sh1million with a similar surety by a Limuru Court, this morning after he denied charges of causing death by dangerous driving. The preacher can alternatively pay a cash bail of KSh.500,000 to secure his release from police custody. Senior Resident Magistrate Timothy ole Tanchu also freed the evangelist’s three co-accused on bonds of Sh100,000 with a similar surety each or Sh50,000 cash bails in the alternative.
Tanchu ruled that the reasons given by the State when opposing bail were not compelling. He pointed out that pastor Ng’ang’a had cooperated with investigators and was not a flight risk. The magistrate also ruled that he was not likely to be a danger to any witness in the case, and that those who will testify had already given their statements to the police.
