Defending
Champion of the English Premier League, Chelsea, have signed Spain forward,
Pedro Rodriguez, from Barcelona after high-jacking the deal from Manchester
United. Chelsea signed the 28 year old on a four year contract for 21 million
pounds.
Pedro
is the Blues’ second signing in less than a week after the arrival of Ghana
defender Baba Rahman. The Spain international was a target of
Man United all summer, before opting for Chelsea. A product of Barcelona’s
academy, Pedro scored 99 goals in 326 appearances since his debut for the
Catalans in 2008.
Another
player persistently linked to the red side of Manchester, defender, Nicolas
Otamendi, has signed for their blue rivals. Manchester City signed Otamendi
from Valencia on a five-year deal worth 32 million pounds. City will pay an
initial 28.5 million pound for the Argentina international. Otamendi is City’s
third major summer signing following the arrival of Raheem Sterling and Fabian
Delph.
